In 2015, The Bay Club was still evolving into the premium country club that they are today. They combine fitness clubs with luxury spas, golf courses, summer camps, restaurants, and more. Instead of doing a traditional brochure or direct mail piece, Swirl decided to try out a quarterly lookbook to advertise The Bay Club's premium offerings. All of us agreed the name of the Lookbook should be One Lombard, which is The Bay Club's blog and now retail shop name. We wanted everything to tie together seamlessly and to help evolve the brand.
We wanted to partner with a local illustrator to create a "collectors" series that evoked the spirit of California. Michael Schwab was at the top of our list and we were fortunate enough to collaborate with him on four covers. We incorporated his iconic illustration style with activities that The Bay Club offers, one for each quarter.
